A difficult issue is how to co-ordinate QSDCA Regulations changes with CCC Regulations.
Obviously QSDCA cannot force changes on CCC but CCC do need to be able to respond to changes and improvements.
The 3rd year of CCC used rules labelled "2022/23" in season 2023/24. Personally, I think this looked unprofessional.
Here are some divergences.
- Compulsory closure in One Day games is a now a major and confusing difference.
- Compare CCC Reg 28 to QSDCA Reg 25.1-25.8
- Law 21.10 over the head is a no ball.
- In QSDCA, Premier and first class cricket this law is modified to a wide by regulation/playing condition.
- QSDCA's Regs 29.2.5, 29.2.6 & 29.2.7 are modelled on ICC and first class playing conditions.
- CCC's one day regulation about over the head balls (CCC Reg 31) is confusing and confounded by Law 21.10 (bouncer over head high is a no ball) and Law 21.13 (no ball overrides wide call)
- Slash replacement player continuity needs to be clarified.
- Compare QSDCA Reg 23.1.7 & 23.1.8 v CCC Reg 18.1.6 & 18.1.7)
- Registration of Players
- Compare QSDCA Reg 3 and CCC Reg 3
- PlayHQ and fill-ins mean the CCC Reg needs to be revised.
- Team List
- Compare QSDCA Reg 7 and CCC Reg 7
- The CCC Reg is pre-PlayHQ.
- Adopt a unified numbering scheme.
- QSDCA has parallel numbering for each of it's 5 sets of rules for each game format.
- This makes rule comparison much easier e.g Hours of Play is Reg 20 in each different competition.
- This makes finding the rule you want much faster IMHO.
- CCC does not have this.
- So for example, QSDCA Reg 20 Playing Hours (any kind of game) is CCC Reg 15 (2 dayers) and CCC Reg 25 (one dayers).
- ICC Playing Conditions and Premier Cricket Regs are arranged according to the 42 Laws of Cricket.... that change (it's a lot of work) would fix this problem.
- Take a look at ICC Men's Test Match Playing Conditions – December 2023
to get an idea. LINK
- This is a long term goal at QSDCA.
- CCC Regs 42 and 43 are modelled on QSDCA Reg 46 and 47 which have recently been changed slightly..
- Since
- CCC does not have a Management Committee (per se) and
- this CCC Reg has internal references to Reg 46 and 47 (QSDCA numbering, oops!)
- maybe CCC Reg's 42 and 43 need a bit of work.
- CCC Regs 39 and 40 are modelled on older version of QSDCA Regs 43 and 44
- CCC Regs 39 and 40 need work too.
- Several CQ and CA Code and Guidelines have been changed recently. The QC Code of Behaviour (QSDCA and CCC Appendix A) needs to be adopted by CCC to avoid major Conduct Commission procedural conflicts.
Since CCC was established in 2021, QSDCA Regs changes have been made in 2024, 2023 and 2022. The latest set of changes went to the QSDCA AGM in July 2024.
Recent QSDCA Regs changes are summarised in these three documents.

Large chunks of these will not be relevant to CCC, obviously, but this contains a reference to every change that has been made so is a good place to start.
The items listed in this blogpost are ones I think need top priority.
